The Italtel 'Pulsar' telephone was designed by DGI in 1979, and has become an icon of Italian design for that period.

The DMI in DGI In 2009, the Design Management Institute held one of their conferences in Milan, where DGI played host one evening, where delegates could sample real Italian 'aperitivo'. We thought it would be fun to hold a raffle and here Carol pulls out the winning number!

SKI CAD Ever year or so, the designers of Milan are all invited to join the SKI CAD event and show if you can ski better than you can design.

Chinese Partners Our partnership with Beijing based design firm FromD took Pasquale to China to present to one of our joint projects.

BOB the Cat : R.I.P. When we first moved into our office 2 years ago, we found ourselves sharing it with a resident cat who soon found himself joining the team.

With every design we make, we aim to create a new and unique identity and we do a lot of research into the values we want the design to communicate, collecting lots of visuals as reference.

Life in the Courtyard The DGI office has its own oasis, with lawn and water fountain. It comes in handy sometimes, especially during the hot summer months.

Milan is a great location to start doing trend research, the city eats, breaths and lives design. The strong fashion and furniture industries in Italy are often pioneering the design trends which eventually influence other product categories around the world. 

Visiting the studio is always a sweet event and if you're lucky, the Food Lab may be testing one of it's new food prototypes which are always in need to test subjects to give their opinion.

On a hot summer's day, there is nothing nicer than taking a picnic on the Parco Sempione, which is just round the corner from the DGI offices.

Even if we have invested in digital prototyping,  we still believe in hand made study prototypes or hand crafted foam shapes to explore forms. In our workshop there is always some prototype or model being made.

When DGI moved into its new studio in 2007, we had a big party to celebrate and although we wanted to show the place to our guests, some areas were still out of bounds.

At DGI, Colour Materials and Finishing (CMF) Design is a core part of our work. Here Igor works to coordinate the colour palet of brand design concepts.

Healthy vegetable smoothies help quench one's thirst in the DGI garden during the hot Milano summertime.

Whilst on secondment to Blue Lagoon Iceland, Igor found time to explore the amazing diversity of landscapes found around the island.

In 1994, Eddie, Sigurdur and Ross, took over the reigns of DGI.

In 1975, the Tratto Pen was designed by DGI and was destined to become a long standing icon of Italian design. Today the pen is still in production, having sold over half a billion.

During the early Orientation phase on many projects, time is spent understanding the particular tastes and motivations of the target personas.

During one of our social events, we took the theme of "Playing with Red" (DGI's colour) and everything from the decor, food and drink was coloured red. Campari liked the idea and supported the event with a supply of Campari Soda.
